Anatomically Correctness

Last week while lunching with my good friend Becky at Qdoba Mexican Grill, my son had the need to use the restroom. Taking him to the bathroom had been difficult because he knows that he is a boy and that I took him into the girls bathroom so he had thrown a fit "I am not a girl!"

Back at our table (while Becky was away refilling her drink or something) he announced "Boys have penises and girls don't!" I knew this was a continuation of the boys vs girls bathroom controversy and politely told him he was correct and not to repeat it at the lunch table. Well, needless to say (why else would there be a blog entry?) he repeated it twice more. Becky was just arriving back at the table as I was now sternly telling him not to repeat it anymore. Becky had missed his phrase and was curious what he was saying that I was forbidding and so without any prompting he told her. She was so shocked, she started laughing! That only caused him to think he was being funny and continue. He proceeded to check, by sticking his arm into his pants, and reaffirm to us: "I have a penis!" Which quickly changed into: "I have LOTS of penises!" Now, I was no longer the good mom telling him "Yes, you are correct. Please don't discuss this here." Oh, NO! I was laughing hysterically too! Becky and I were about falling off our chairs. He continued to raise the volume of his voice and began drawing other diners attention! That's about when I decided lunch was over and it was time to go home.
